Face Replacement Demo using the Kinect Depth Sensor

چکیده
This paper proposes a face-swap method, wherein the use of a depth sensor and improved algorithms are used to improve the quality and realism of a face swap process. By tracking head pose and facial features in 3D using a Kinect depth camera, an accurate model of the face can be constructed and used to deform a texture which is then drawn on top of a 2D video stream. The use of random regression forests for head pose estimation is explored, along with a novel method for blending textures based on luminance. The proposed system shows good results through a wider range of head rotations than previous methods, and is able to run at an average of 25fps.

How Much Information Kinect Facial Depth Data Can Reveal About Identity, Gender and Ethnicity?
Human face images acquired using conventional 2D cameras may have inherent restrictions that hinder the inference of some specific information in the face. The low-cost depth sensors such as Microsoft Kinect introduced in late 2010 allow extracting directly 3D information, together with RGB color images. This provides new opportunities for computer vision and face analysis research. Although mo...

متن کاملHead Pose Estimation on Top of Haar-Like Face Detection: A Study Using the Kinect Sensor
Head pose estimation is a crucial initial task for human face analysis, which is employed in several computer vision systems, such as: facial expression recognition, head gesture recognition, yawn detection, etc. In this work, we propose a frame-based approach to estimate the head pose on top of the Viola and Jones (VJ) Haar-like face detector. Several appearance and depth-based feature types a...
متن کاملBi-modal Face Recognition - How combining 2D and 3D Clues Can Increase the Precision
This paper introduces a bi-modal face recognition approach. The objective is to study how combining depth and intensity information can increase face recognition precision. In the proposed approach, local features based on LBP (Local Binary Pattern) and DLBP (Depth Local Binary Pattern) are extracted from intensity and depth images respectively. Our approach combines the results of classifiers ...
